Kuwait Oil Tanker Company (KOTC) devotedly seeks to support the Kuwaiti economy and provide job vacancies for our youth who represent the most important resource of the country.
It also seeks to have efficient personnel equipped with the required skills to run our marine fleet competently and push forward the wheel of development to accomplish the desired goals.
KOTC’s scholarship program commenced in 1979. The scholarship program was initiated to encourage Kuwaiti youth to undertake a sea going career and reduce Kuwait’s dependence on expatriate manpower.
Between 1979 and 1999 a total of 113 Kuwaiti scholars went through the program with scholars successfully completing their studies, serving in the Ranks of Master & Chief Engineer, progressing to responsible positions in Head Office.
The scholarship program was resumed in 2009 and we presently have 23 scholars studying toward their first vocational qualification.
At present 29 Kuwaiti officers working onboard our vessels. Where 14 officers graduated from KOTC Scholarship Scheme. KOTC has 23 marine scholars studying in UK.
By 2020 we expect to have around 102 Kuwaiti officers working onboard our fleet.
